Calculate monthly and one-off usage separately

1. For each method, multiply monthly calls by billable CU per call, then add the results: monthly CU = Σ(monthly calls × CU per call).
2. Repeat for one-off backfill calls: backfill CU = Σ(backfill calls × CU per call).
3. Price each total separately: compute USD = CU × USD per million CU ÷ 1,000,000. At the dated Alchemy PAYG rate below, use $0.525 per million CU.

Use the official billable method table and official pricing to verify or replace these assumptions. PAYG charges all usage; do not subtract the separate Free plan’s 30M CU quota. An unknown method needs an explicit CU assumption; do not silently count it as zero. Count individual calls inside batches, retries, and pagination.

Worked example and limits

10M blockNumber calls + 1M call calls + 500k getLogs calls = 156M monthly CU, or $81.90. A one-off 1M getBlockByNumber backfill = 20M CU, or $10.50. Combined compute for that month is $92.40, before other charges.

This is a compute subtotal, not a complete provider bill. Capacity, taxes, discounts, and other products are excluded. Add known other monthly charges separately. Monthly call volume cannot establish peak throughput, backfill duration, or sufficient capacity; consult the throughput documentation and your own billing terms.
